Huh....good one, Kassie....now as I am going through my list of stupid and embarrassing things that I have done- puke in a bar, trip/stumble in front of that really cute guy, laugh loudly at an inappropriate time, etc. I am going to go with my first official date with Matt (my husband). I was giddy with excitement. Spent far too much time getting all dolled up. Making sure I was as beautiful as I could possibly be. Super excited for all the possibilities that this new guy could bring. And perhaps, at that time in my life, I was also in a slight phase of being in too much control and a tad too independent. So I was all I am woman hear me roar! This is the 90s. I will drive. I drove us to Charlie's on the Lake- a seafood restaurant. And I was too giddy with excitement that what I thought was the turn into the parking lot was clearly not a turn into the parking lot. It wasn't a turn at all. I think I just turned into a median in the road and almost killed both of us. Good times. I wanted to DIE of embarrassment. I thought for sure that would be the end of Matt and I. But lucky for me- it wasn't. He just drove more often. Now when we drive by that restaurant we joke "remember that time you almost killed us on our first date?"
