Rescheduled Christmas #2

Tuesday night was our rescheduled Christmas #2 with my mom and Ralph. We were sad that my step-sister and her family weren't able to join us, but with rescheduling things it gets difficult to get everyone together again! I wasn't in the mood to cook (really when am I in the mood to cook?) so we went out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings.

This seems to be the boys new favorite restaurant. Not because of the food- don't get me wrong the food isn't bad. Its because they have crane games. I personally don't get the fascination of this game. But that is because I have never won anything!! Alex and Zach are pros. Tonight Zach won an elephant and a dragon.

Alex won a stuffed animal named Crash. I am not sure exactly what his stuffed animal is. (He doesn't look happy in this picture because he didn't want me to take another picture of him. You would think they would be used to all the pictures I take of them by now! :))

Josh played the candy crane instead of the stuffed animal crane. He would rather have candy than a stuffed animal plus its cheaper. :) He watches his nickles!!

It was a nice dinner. Especially since none of us had to do the dishes!! :) After dinner we came back to our house to open presents.

One of the things Grandma and Grandpa gave the boys was a camera. They have enjoyed taking pictures. They really like that they can download them onto their computer to look at the pictures they took. Say CHEEEEESSSEEE!!

My parents also gave them slinkys, which all my boys have called springs. They have had a ton of fun with those too!

After presents, we all had dessert together. My mom brought over ice cream and kringle (a danish pastry)! YUM!!

We had a really nice night together. I am happy that we were able to reschedule due to the weather.

Rescheduled Christmas #1

With all the snow, came a lot of rescheduled events. Sunday was the first rescheduled event and man was it great!! We went over to Matt's parents for a really wonderful dinner! Ronna went ALL out. It was quite fancy!

Before dinner the boys got to open a few presents. The adults didn't exchange yet because we are waiting until we get together with Matt's brother and his family. The boys were very excited to get more presents!! However before the boys got involved with their presents and new things inside, I made everyone take family pictures. Aren't I mean to delay present opening?

Once pictures were done, the boys got their gifts and were ready to open them.

They ripped them open in a blink of an eye....as most 5 year olds would do!

They were all very excited as to what they got. But before they played with the new toys, they started a wrapping paper fight. Thanks again Larry for teaching them this fun game. ;)

They really ganged up on Larry this year.

Josh even put a bow on top of Larry's head. It was a lot of fun. Messy fun....but fun.

Josh wanted to be a present too.

He thought he was pretty funny. :) Which he is.

The boys played with their new things while dinner was getting ready. Zach got these really cool markers that can change color. Josh got some new markers too that have two different colors on each marker. Both Josh and Zach colored for a while.

Alex got bat man stuff. It was great. He squealed with delight when he opened his gift! I love the sound of excitement when you give someone something that they have really wanted! :) Alex played with his batman stuff. Which he has been playing with ever since.

Josh also got this cool race track thing. He has really enjoyed playing with it.

Dinner was ready and we all gathered at the table. We had a really delicious meal of beef stroganoff. I hadn't had that in a really long time. I forgot how good it is!!

Like I said Ronna went all out this year. She even brought out wine glasses for the boys too. The boys thought that was really awesome. I think we "cheered" (clinked glasses) a gazillion times that night.

After our delicious meal, we of course had to have dessert. Peppermint ice cream with a sugar cookie on top. YUM! It completely hit the spot.

It was a really great night. We were happy to be out of our house for the first time in 3 days!! We were happy to be spending the evening with Ronna and Larry. The snow plows came by while we were there. So we all cheered as they drove by! Now Ronna and Larry were free as well. Their street was quite difficult to come down. We just made it. While we were there we saw a few people get stuck in the street. So we were all happy when we saw the snowplows drive by!! Dinner was delicious! Thanks again Ronna and Larry for a wonderful evening!!

Christmas

Christmas was good....for the most part. The big blizzard that has come through has really messed up our Christmas plans. For the last three days all plans to get together with family have been canceled/postponed. So that has been a bummer. But instead of sulking around about it we are trying to make the best of the situation. Santa still came. Matt, the boys and I had a wonderful time together. Christmas Eve the boys set out milk, cookies and letters to Santa.

The next morning all the cookies and milk (and letters) were gone but there were lots of presents that he left!! The boys were really excited! It has been SO MUCH fun this year. The boys have really been into Santa. Its been great!

The boys started to sort out everyone's gifts. Then ripped them all apart! It was awesome hearing all the squeals of excitement!!

They were really good boys this year as Santa brought them what they had asked for! Alex got his Batman slippers. He has been wearing them ever since. (minus the times we are our playing in the snow that is)

Josh got his aqua sand that he asked Santa for. Zach got his Color Shifter Car Wash he asked for. The picture of Zach didn't turn out, so that is why I don't have one posted for you to enjoy.

This is what our living room looked like after present opening.

This is my day 7 of 7 Days shot. I call it "The Triplet Tornado."

After opening presents, I started to make ebelskiver a Christmas morning tradition. Growing up my grandma K used to make this for me when I would visit. It was something I would always look forward to. Since she has passed its a way for me to remember her. I really miss her. Plus they are REALLY delicious!!

I have decided that I need to make these more than just once a year. We all ate them like candy.

After breakfast was over, we played the rest of the day with our new toys. It was a lot of fun!! With triplets, we had LOTS of new things to play with. Like Zach's new carwash....

And a magnetic marble maze thing....

and geomags

and Rocky the Robot (who Alex has decided to call Chuck)

and aqua sand (messy but cool)

and car ramp stuff...

and pinball

and a new hul mask. We had hulk hands but Alex got Josh the mask to go with it. It was funny, Josh asked me to take his picture then asked to see it. I showed it to him and he goes "woah. I am scary!"

These were just some of the things that we did. I had a ton of fun putting lego stuff together. I never knew legos were so fun!!

Today we are still snowed in. Just waiting for the plows to come. I am starting to go a little stir crazy. There is only so many train tracks I can build or games of connect 4 I can do before I go a little silly! We did go outside again a little today. Here are some of he pictures I took of what our area looks like. This is a snow drift at the end of our driveway. As you can see its almost as tall as Matt.

Here are the boys sledding down a drift in the front.

We went out back to build a tunnel through the snow. We all thought that was a ton of fun!
