Fun with Friends

Today was an awesome day!! We were able to get together with our good friends Bethany and her daughter and mom AND with Joe and Kassie as well. To give a little background here, Bethany and I have known each other since high school. However, we didn't really become friends until college. Joe and I have been friends since high school. Kassie and I became friends because she married Joe. However, I would have been her friend if I had met her without Joe. She is cool like that. Anyway, I am not sure that we have all gotten together before. Have we guys? I can't remember a time (other than our weddings maybe- but does that even count?)

Today we all met at Wheatfields. YUM is all I can say. If you haven't had the chance to eat here, I would highly recommend it! We were all a little worried that we weren't going to be able to, as an ice storm was in the weather forecast. Luckily, the temperature stayed above freezing and the driving conditions were doable.
coloring while waiting for food
The kids all colored nicely while they waited for their food and the adults chatted away. Annalie brought a glodoodle. She was nice enough to share her new toy with the boys.
Josh doing glow doodle
Its pretty cool. Its clear so you can trace things too. Joe ordered this really yummy looking hot chocolate!
Joes delicious drink!!
Still sort of wished that I ordered that too. Oh well, it just gives me an excuse to go back. As if I really need one.

We sat in the sun room and were the only ones there. That was really awesome. I think the weather scared a lot of people. Usually the place is pretty busy. In the middle of the sun room there is a fountain. While we were waiting for our food, the kids asked if they could make a wish in the fountain. So I gave them all a penny.
still wishing
Evidently, they decided that what they wished for wasn't what they REALLY wanted. They needed a do over. So they reached into the water to get their penny back.
Making wishes
We put a stop to that quickly. We didn't want soaking wet kids. Josh however decided that he didn't want to make a wish at all. He wanted to save his penny and he put it in his coin purse to save for later. He is going to be a rich man someday.

Kassie took this cute picture of the kids. (Zach, Josh, Alex, Annalie) I love it because you can tell how much fun they have together.

Before we left, we decided to take our 7 days pictures. Joe, Bethany and Kassie have all done the 7 days project before. They are the ones who got me interested in it. I have to admit, I am really enjoying it. It is forcing me to take a lot more pictures and be a little more creative about it. The theme of the day was silver. Which would explain why we are all holding spoons- except Joe. He is holding a knife. Which is much more manly than a spoon! :) Here is my 7 Days shot:
7 days: Day 5- silver
The thing about taking pictures of yourself, is that you really have to take A LOT of them to get one decent shot. I have started to wish for a little longer arm. Here is another shot I got. It makes me giggle when I see it. I love the expression on Joe's face and Matt is in the background.
Seven days

This is Joe's 7 Days shot. Its my favorite shot of the day. He is a WAY better photographer than I am. His pictures are so creative and he can do cool things to them. He calls this "All the married ladies...all the married ladies" oh oh oh....again he has the manly knife.

On our way out, we had to stop and look at Wheatfields cool gingerbread house/city display. It was really cool. It had a running train- which the boys absolutely LOVED! Its Whoville from the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

After lunch, we all went back to my house to hang out a little bit. I was lucky enough to get a few computer lessons on HTML and Flikr and stuff about blogging. Now if I can remember it all I will be a happy girl. (Bethany and Kassie- I uploaded the photos in the new way you taught me. WAY easier.....and I also stole pictures from you guys. I figured that was ok as you were the ones who taught me how. hee hee....plus I gave you credit.) Thanks again for the lessons ladies.

I was too involved in figuring stuff out to look up. :)

It was great to hang out with good friends. I am so happy that the weather didn't delay or cancel anything. Can't wait to spend more time with them again.
