Triplets, Twins, a singleton, and SNOW!?!

Yesterday was quite an eventful day for us. In the morning, our friends Nick and Lisa came over with their twins to play a little bit. Nick is leaving for basic training on Wednesday, so it will be the last time we will see him for a while. We had to say our goodbyes before he left.

Walker and Jocelyn 10 mo.
It was a house full of multiples. Chaotic- but great.

My boys had a great time playing with the little ones. They played trucks.

Jocelyn and Walker had fun crawling over Zach, like he was a speed bump.

They also had fun rolling balls across the kitchen floor.

Alex really wanted to hold the "babies". At 10 months, they would rather be on the move than to be held. Walker was a good sport and let Alex hold him for a few seconds.

It was a nice morning. Here is a group picture. Twins and Triplets.

I fed the boys lunch and then they were off to preschool and I took a minute to relax and then did some homework. That evening we had Drew, Katie and Andi over. Andi is one month old. As you can see Zach was very excited for them to arrive.

I made homemade chicken noodle soup and we poured it over mashed potatoes. It was YUMMY!! Here are two of my mashed potato taste testers: (Alex, as usual, wanted nothing to do with it. He is such a picky eater!!!)
Zach and Josh
Our guests arrived! Yea!

Andi
Everyone is really excited to see Andi....and Katie and Drew too, of course! ;)

We all got a chance or two to hold Andi.
Katie brought cupcakes for dessert. She is a great baker!! They were so good that the boys were licking the cupcake wrappers clean!!! Now THAT is a good cupcake!!!

Josh

It was a really great night!! It was also a fantastic day, but we were beat after a full day like that. We were all asleep by the time our heads hit the pillows!

When we awoke the next morning, there was SNOW!! What?!?! Where did our fall go? Did I miss that? We got about 6 inches.

The boys were thrilled!! I headed to class to research stuff in reading (booo! hiss!) while the rest of the fam got to play in the snow! They shook snow off the bushes. (Zach, Alex, Josh)

Alex made a snow angel.

And these boys will shovel about anything if you let them!

After playing in the snow, what could be better than coming in to a cup of hot cocoa?

Thanks Bethany!!

Today Bethany, Annalie, and Debbie came over. Bethany and Annalie are in town for a very short time and squeezed us in for a visit. The boys were excited to see Annalie again. They all played outside- which I happen to think was crazy. It was cold!! But the kids didn't seem to notice that at all.

While the kids were outside playing, Bethany, Debbie and I enjoyed Starbucks (I heart Chi Tea Lattes) and chatted for awhile. Then, Bethany gave me a few more crochet lessons. Bethany taught me how to crochet years ago. Now I was ready to learn more than just horizontal stripes and diagonal stripes, so Bethany was kind enough to teach me a couple more things- like flowers and squares! I was very excited.

Of course, I had to write everything down. I wouldn't remember later if I didn't.

YEA!! Its my first flower!!

Before they left, we wanted to get a nice picture of the kids. That is way more difficult than it sounds. :)

These were the three best pictures that I got. (Josh, Alex, Annalie, and Zach)

Katrina and Bethany

Gronbergs and Venns (minus the men)

It was great to spend a few hours with Bethany, Annalie and Debbie!
I was so inspired by the afternoon lesson, that I decided to try to make a snowball!! I did it!! Its not perfect, but I did it! :) My next goal is to crochet a sock monkey!!

Porsches to Bikes

This weekend was a lot of fun. It started Saturday morning, as most weekends do, when my mom and I went to breakfast and to see a comedian. We both needed a little extra laughter in our lives right now, so it was the perfect way to start a Saturday. While I was doing that with my mom, Matt took Josh and Zach to "Touch a Truck." Its an event where there are lots of trucks AND you can touch them. Hence the name Touch a Truck. :) The boys got to get in and explore cement mixers, ambulances, semis, fire trucks, diggers, etc. They even got to see a helicopter take off. It is a little boys heaven!! Alex didn't go because he had a sleepover at Grandma and Granddad's. (Zach is in red and Josh is in blue)

That afternoon, I went to a craft fair where my friend Kassie was selling her jewelry. It was great to see both Kassie and Joe. Of course, I had to get a really cute pair of earrings! Kassie is quite talented! She has lots of really cool jewelry. After the show both Joe and Kassie came over to visit. Joe has a Porsche that he is driving right now. For a girl who isnt into cars, I have to admit it was pretty awesome. The boys are still young enough to not really understand the coolness factor, but the fact that it was a convertible was WAY COOL for them. Troy and Bethany- I promise the boys didn't hurt your car and I hope these next few photos don't give you a heart attack!! ;)

Alex and Joe

I love this picture. Notice Zach put his seatbelt on. :) I really hope this isn't a sign of times to come!!!

While Joe and Kassie were visiting, the boys had to show of their Halloween costumes. Joe got in on the fun too.

That night the boys went out for pizza, ice cream and a Ferris wheel ride with Bill and Linda while Matt and I went out to dinner and then helped Melani celebrate her college graduation!! GO MEL L!! By the end of the day, the Venns were beat!

Sunday we decided not to go anywhere. My goal was to stay in my pajamas as long as I could! :) It was nice to stay home. We got some yard work done and other odds and ends. That afternoon the boys rode their bikes. I have to admit, I feel a little guilty about the whole bike riding situation this year. We haven't done it much at all. Here the season is almost over and we have let them ride their bikes maybe 3-4 times....maybe! Its just so hard. They are still learning and Matt and I can't chase three learning bike riders in three different directions. Thus, the bikes don't get used much. We usually go to a church parking lot that is about a block away from us. Its a huge flat surface that they can ride all over the place. Perfect for learning. But today we stayed on our block and they did pretty good.

Alex loves his bike. He was up and down the street hundreds of times!! He really wore himself out!!

Zach and Josh got tired of it and started to play with water guns (without the water of course).

At the end of the day we were all beat and thought movie night sounded great! We had popcorn and teddy grahams and watched Madagascar. Perfect way to end the weekend.
