So yesterday was a really rough day for me. I found out that I no longer have a job. And for those of you who know me well- know how much I LOVED LOVED LOVED this job. It was absolutely perfect in every way. Seriously- the staff was awesome, the students I had were perfect, I had creative freedom, it was part time, paid well, AND I HAD MY OWN OFFICE!!! I really looked forward to going to work every day. It was hands down my most favorite job I have ever had in my entire life. Anyway, funding fell through, blah blah blah, and the school has officially closed. Talk about lots of tears in that meeting- and really the rest of the day. That school was fantastic! There was no other place like it ANYWHERE and it is sad that it closed due to lack of funding.
Anyway, I told the boys yesterday- possibly through a few tears- that I would no longer be teaching because the school closed. They were all sympathetic. Josh said "Don't worry, mommy. You can teach us now!" Which made me smile a little, until Zach yells out "NO YOU CAN'T!" I said, "Why not?" And in all seriousness Zach said "Cause then we would have to pay you!" That made me laugh. Something that I needed yesterday! Just add it to the list why I love my boys!!

Overwhelmingly Wonderful
That is how I would describe this last week: overwhelmingly wonderful! I have had lots to blog about this week- but haven't had the time or energy to do so until now.
To begin with I started my new job. I am not going to blog too much about that. Mostly because I signed a waver saying I wouldn't blog or post stuff on facebook about it. And considering how much I am LOVING this new job- I don't want to get fired. In a nut shell, the people I am working with are awesome. It has been so much fun setting up an new classroom- all the organizing and creating is SO UP MY ALLEY!! I have been in heaven. It has been a wonderful challenge with the new grade level!! I do have to say it has been really hard to get used to transitioning from a huge school system to a small private one. And I think I am going to get really spoiled by that!!
This week was also kindergarten curriculum night. Matt and I went to the school to see what the year will hold for our three kindergartners. I quickly discovered another hurdle of having triplets. Each teacher held their own session. And yes, for the most part the boys will be doing the same thing, but each teacher also has their own way of doing things. I went to Alex's class. Matt went to Josh's class. And we have no idea what Zach is going to do. Just kidding. After the session ended we quickly went to Zach's teacher and introduced ourselves and got his packet of stuff. And in that packet- I am going to complain here- was the SAME paperwork that I ALREADY filled out a few weeks ago. Granted some of the blanks were filled in but I would say only half was. So I had to spend time refilling it all out. SO NOT COOL!! Sitting in Alex's class, listening to his teacher's spiel was overwhelming. I started to tear up. I can't believe they are going to kindergarten. This time has flown by so fast!! They are growing up too quickly. Plus, I think I went into it with the attitude of I was a teacher before in this school district I know what's going on. But I didn't. Kindergarten is a bigger deal than I thought. So I was one of THOSE moms. I didn't bawl...just got chocked up. So much stuff to think about and do.
The next night was Safe Walk to School Night. This was when the boys got to go to school to meet their teacher. Matt and I were pulled in three different directions as everyone was so excited!! We stuck together and went to Alex's class first.
He was SO EXCITED to have his own desk. Inside was a box of crayons and a pencil. It was like he won the lottery or something. It was cute.
Next, we went to Josh's class. His class has tables and not desks so Josh was a little disappointed- until he saw that his teacher left a little present for him.
It was a cute little bag full of things to make kindergarten a little less scary. Like a penny to show how valuable he is. An eraser to remember that it's ok to make mistakes. A life saver to let him know that his teacher is there to help him. Stuff like that. It was neat.
Next we rushed to Zach's classroom.
He had a desk too. Look how little they look behind their desks!! It cracks me up!
Since we rushed through the classrooms- because everyone had to see their own RIGHT NOW- we went through them a second time more slowly.
Really checking out what was around the room.
Oh, and the other excitement was the lockers! They had no idea what they were and it was a lot of fun to see a big new school through their eyes!!
Alex's teacher is Mrs. Bartling.
Josh's teacher is Mrs. Williams.
Zach's teacher Miss Moran.
Overall, I am really happy with everything. They have very nice teachers and a great school. I am excited to see how this year goes. It should be lots of fun seeing how much they grow and learn!
This past weekend we went to get new tennis shoes for the boys. Normally I wouldn't find that blog worthy but Josh and Zach found Star Wars shoes. They thought they won the lottery. Lots of cheering and excitement when they saw them. Alex was set on tie shoes. He has pretty much learned to tie them on his own this weekend!! Granted it takes a while but he can do it!! Anyway with the Star Wars shoes came masks. The lady at the shoe store was nice enough to just give one to Alex. We went to Elieen's Cookies after we got our shoes to see Drew and get a little treat. Here they are waiting to get their cookies. My boys seriously crack me up every day!!
It's now Sunday evening and I think we are all ready (including me) to start the new year tomorrow!!

Employed!
Monday I had a job interview. This opportunity came out of no where for me. I have to admit when I first got the call on Friday to see if I was interested, I was really skeptical about it. The job is to teach Begindergarten. Which is preschool- the age group right before Kindergarten. I have to admit I have never seen myself as a preschool teacher. Then again I have never seen myself as a high school teacher either. Not that there is something wrong with preschool teachers or high school teachers- I just never saw myself teaching those grades. So when I got the call I thought "yeah right". But I checked it out anyway- no harm in that right? And I have to admit I FELL IN LOVE! It is at the Omaha Hearing School. I will not be teaching deaf or other hearing impaired children. I am not qualified for that. My class will be regular ed. I toured the school and it is awesome! State of the art I tell ya. The lights don't hum. The walls angle in so sound doesn't echo. (ALL classrooms should be like that!) There is this fantastic garden in the back. It is truly set up to help parents with hearing impaired kids. It's amazing!! It's a private school so I am still trying to wrap my head around what a board of directors really means, but I am sure I will learn.
One of the things that really impressed me is that the school is all about literacy and language. Which is right up my newly acquired masters degree's alley! The school follows the school calendar that my boys are going to. So all our days off are the same. It's part time. It pays well. And here is what clinched the deal for me- I get my own OFFICE!! Not a cubical people an honest to goodness office- with a door and everything. Why that excites me so much I have no clue, but it does. I accepted the job and am now in overwhelmed mode. I haven't taught in 6 years and I have never taught kids this little. I LOVE this age group- but playing with them is one thing, teaching them is a whole different ballgame. But I am super excited!!
After my job interview, I went to the OPS headquarters- a.k.a. TAC building- and signed my boys up for kindergarten. That was an emotional experience. I filled out all the paperwork- times three. Each packet I had to fill out was about 10 pages long! I had hand cramps when I was done. And a slight headache. But they are signed up and ready to go. Now I just need to let them go.
Wow...looking back, Monday was a big day for me. I had a job interview AND I signed the boys up for Kindergarten. I still can't believe that they are going to start school this year. And I have to admit there are a few moments where I think "I am just going to home school them." I am going to clear things up right now- NO I do NOT really want to home school them. That is not for me. We have a fantastic school system here why mess that up? With that said, I am not anti-home schooling. If I lived in certain areas of our country I would most definitely consider home schooling. My thoughts are more along the lines of "I am not ready to have them gone all day." Ya know? We have been together daily for six years straight. I am not quite ready for that to end. So here we are starting another chapter in our lives. Work for me. School for the boys. All in less that two weeks- holy cow I got a lot of fun to cram in before that!! *panic* :)

Nothing to Report...but Blogging Anyway
So not much has been going on with us lately. But I feel like writing a blog so that is what I am going to do.
I have turned in my comps. What a relief that is!! When I turned them in two professors and one secretary cheered and clapped for me. It was a little embarrassing but cool. Now I wait to see if I pass. UGH! I HATE waiting!!
Nothing going on with the house. We had a ton of people coming through a couple of weeks ago and now it has really slowed down. Matt and I saw a few episodes on HGTV about staging your house to sell. That was a mistake. It freaked me out more than it helped. I called our realtor to see if we should paint, remove furniture, take down all pictures, etc. He assured me that our house was fine and we just need to find the right person. So now we wait. UGH I HATE waiting!! Did I mention that before?
My class at UNO is good. I am finding it really interesting. So that is good. Only 5 more classes to go and I am DONE! (assuming I pass my comps that is...waiting to find out. Maybe I should have titled this blog Waiting!...but I hate waiting so that is a yucky title for me)
I have also started to apply for jobs this fall. This is NOT a fun process! All the forms and paperwork to fill out. Plus writing a resume and cover letters. These are all things I have never done before. When I graduated from college we had this portfolio that we sent out to apply for a job. This time....I do it the real world way I guess. I found a job that would be my dream job....but don't want to jinx it too much by writing about it. So I am waiting, AGAIN, to hear from them. But they are probably waiting on my resume and cover letter. :) hahaha For someone who doesn't have a memory, it is VERY hard to list a history of what I have done!!
The boys are good. Matt is good. I am good. All is well. hmmm....I just realized this is my first post that I haven't added any pictures!! Interesting....
